Compositions of grating elements
Images or graphic compositions, filled with grating elements (i.e. sets of parallel uniform lines) deflecting light in various directions. The effect of this is a contrasting element well visible in all conditions the protecting value of which depends mainly on precision of making because the technology itself is very commonly known.

Dot-matrix hologram
These elements are made using computer controlled laser equipment and they consist of pixels which are grating elements in the same shape, usually round or square, size normally within the limits of 0.25 – 0.0625 mm (which corresponds to the resolution of 100-400 dpi); in some companies the resolution reaches 600 dpi.
This technique is quite new, however very widely known, and protecting value of elements made using it depends mainly on resolution of the equipment and quality of graphical design.

Kinematic effect hologram
Elements consisting of appropriately laid areas, filled with grating elements or holographic structures.
Graphical objects presented on the element are normally visible in the hologram plane, when the element is moved they change location, shape or size in a more or less smooth way.
Graphical resolution of such elements reaches maximum up to 1600 dpi (only in very expensive elements used solely to protect bank notes and such documents as passports, visas or driving licenses). The element containing kinematic effects is usually easy to identify and pretty difficult to forge because this technique has been mastered (to various degree) by relatively few companies.

Developed by a pair of Polish scientists – PaweA� StępieA� and Remigiusz Gajda, an element consisting of pixels which are synthetic holograms being a general form of kinematic elements. Standard resolution is 4000 dpi, maximum resolution reaches 12000 dpi.

Graphical resolution of KineMax elements is up to 4000 dpi as a standard, therefore in order to design these elements it is possible to follow techniques used for manufacture of securities (guilloche, microprinting, various types of hidden elements).
It is also possible to make elements containing any three-dimensional images designed using computer.

At the current stage of technique development, this element cannot be forged and any imitations would be easily detectable with the naked eye.
